Angela Powell (JD '97) is new partner at Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP
February 24, 2017 | By Alexa Brown— Pepperdine Law Alumna Angela Powell (JD '97) has joined Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP as partner.

Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP, one of California's leading law firms since 1937, welcomes Partner Angela Powell. During her 20-year career, Powell has tried more than 60 cases and has established herself as a tenacious attorney representing public entities and police officers in civil rights cases; counseling and litigating on behalf on employers in employment disputes; as well as handling general liability and personal injury matters.
"Angela's experience having worked all sides of the table – as a defense attorney, as a prosecutor for the District Attorney's office, and as a plaintiff's attorney – will be an incredible asset to clients," said Christian Stouder, Managing Partner of Haight Brown & Bonesteel. Prior to joining the firm, Powell was an attorney with Manning & Kass on its Government Entity and Liability Team, where she represented and counseled government agencies and officers in civil rights matters, as well as other clients in employment and general litigation.
Powell began her career as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney, where she prosecuted hundreds of violent crimes, including robbery, kidnapping and capital murder. After leaving the District Attorney's office, she was a successful plaintiff's attorney in a boutique Beverly Hills law firm.
Powell received her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law. She is a member of the California State Bar, and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California.
