2021 SBA Talent Show Displays Impressive Student Talent

Pepperdine Caruso Law students held the annual spring talent show on February 17, 2021. SBA hosted the event and 1L Representatives Curtis Crawford and Emily Olsen served as emcees. The following seven students participated with a wide variety of impressive talents:

  • Patrick Babajanian (1L) - Named all 197 country flags in under 3 minutes
  • Jonathan Maseng (2L) - Vocals, "If Ever I Would Leave You" (from Camelot)
  • Christine Lindley (1L) - Guitar medley, "Minuet in G" (Bach), "Worried Man Blues", "Yankee Doodle" (improvised), and "Surf Rock" (Hal Leonard)
  • Mackenna Johnson (2L) - Vocals, "Oh! Darling" (The Beatles)
  • Mariana Orbay (3L) - Poetry reading (self-written)
  • Carlie Bauer (3L) - Vocals and guitar, "Carolina in My Mind" (James Taylor)
  • Breck Gallini (1L) - Vocals and guitar, "First Day of My Life" (Bright Eyes)

The competition judges were Professor Schultz, Professor Taha, and Dean Goodno. After the contestants performed, the judges determined 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The winners were:

  • 1st place: Jonathan Maseng
  • 2nd place: Carlie Bauer
  • 3rd place: Patrick Babajanian

The display of talent was fantastic! Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to all the winners. SBA looks forward to hosting another incredible show next year.
