Oath Writing Ceremony

The Caruso Law Oath Writing Ceremony
An Annual Launch Week Tradition
Each year during Launch Week, first-year students participate in one of Caruso Law’s most meaningful traditions: the Oath Writing Ceremony. In their assigned table groups, students work together to thoughtfully craft an original oath—one that reflects the shared values, aspirations, and responsibilities of entering law students.
Once drafted, each group’s oath is reviewed by a panel that includes a judge and distinguished members of the Caruso Law community. The selected oath is then adopted as the official class oath.
At the conclusion of Launch Week, the entire incoming class gathers in the Caruso Auditorium to take the oath together, marking a powerful moment of unity and purpose as they begin their legal education.
Below, you’ll find a collection of winning oaths from past years.
