Wm. Matthew Byrne, Jr. Judicial Clerkship Institute
Thank you for your interest in the 2025 Judicial Clerkship Institute. Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and the Federal Judicial Center have partnered to offer JCI in previous years. At the present time, the plans for JCI 2025 are still in flux but the event is unlikely to be held in person this year. We will post more information as it becomes available.
Each year, Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law brings law students from across the country to its campus for the Wm. Matthew Byrne, Jr. Judicial Clerkship Institute (JCI). At JCI, students who have been accepted into federal judicial clerkship positions have the opportunity to gain distinctive, comprehensive training by federal judges. In the past eighteen years, students from more than 177 different law schools clerking for more than 794 different judges have attended the program, making it a unique resource for promoting the administration of justice in our federal courts.
A Tribute
Judge Matt Byrne had a magnetic personality. At his memorial service, speakers noted that ever so many people thought they were Matt's best friend.
Student Scholarships
Friends and family of JCI have come together to help raise $3 million dollars for an endowment that provides scholarships to students from around the nation who attend this conference.
