The LLM in Entertainment, Media, and Sports Law is designed for international and domestic students looking at specializing in the field of entertainment, media, and sports law.  Utilizing a balance of coursework and externships the program provides an unparalleled learning experience in the heart of the entertainment industry.  

Faculty Directors

Professor Maureen Weston

Maureen Weston has been the faculty advisor for Straus Institute's Entertainment, Media & Sports Dispute Resolution Project for the past four years. Professor Weston practiced law with Holme Roberts & Owen and Faegre & Benson in Colorado, prior to joining Pepperdine. Weston is co-author of casebooks on sports law and arbitration and has written numerous articles in the area of Olympic and International Sports Arbitration, disability law, sports law, and dispute resolution. Professor Victoria Schwartz

Victoria Schwartz practiced as a litigation associate at a Business Trial and Litigation Practice at O'Melveny & Myers LLP in Century City. Professor Schwartz's practice focused on complex and appellate litigation, contract law, entertainment law, and intellectual property. More

Students pursuing the LLM in Entertainment, Media and Sports Law are required to complete at least one 2-unit EMS relevant externship

Independent Study

Students pursuing the LLM in Entertainment, Media and Sports Law are required to complete an LLM Independent Study Project.  International students electing to sit for the California Bar Exam may waive out of the Independent Study requirement.
