The Belonging Awards

An annual celebration hosted by the Office of Diversity and Belonging to celebrate the people and groups who work tirelessly to improve and elevate diversity at the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law community. This event celebrates the diversity of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni; highlight student organizations that hold events that thoughtfully promote diversity, belonging, and important views at the school; alumni who promote diversity and belonging in the profession; and the individual students, faculty, and staff who exemplify diversity, inclusion, and belonging at the school of law. Pepperdine Caruso School of Law has a well-earned reputation for welcoming distinguished scholars, judges, government officials, and leaders to campus to share their views on important current issues with our community. Our speakers, like our community, have diverse perspectives and believe that we all benefit when we engage in meaningful dialogue with each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Open Conversations 

Open conversation

Facilitated by faculty and staff, Open Conversations are a time for the CSOL community to engage in robust, thoughtful discussions around pressing current issues with a legal and moral perspective. All are welcome and participation is encouraged! Lunch is served. 

Race and the Law Series

The Race and the Law series are facilitated discussions with various Caruso Law faculty that seeks to explore various intersections of race and the law. Based on Dorothy Brown's book, Critical Race Theory, which examines doctrinal subjects through the lens of race and diversity, the Race and the Law Series has explored a variety of topics such as “Race and Criminal Law”, “Race and Property Law”, and “Race and Immigration Law,” and “Race and Domestic Violence.”

Reimagining Justice

The Reimagining Justice Series is aimed at bringing together students, alumni, faculty, and staff to discuss timely justice issues. This series facilitates thoughtful discussion and exploration around what justice currently looks like in various areas and to imagine what justice can become in the future.
