Pepperdine Law to offer Online Master of Legal Studies

February 1, 2017 | By Alexa Brown —Pepperdine School of Law is offering an online Master of Legal Studies (MLS) program* in partnership with 2U Inc. The program is expected to launch Fall 2017. Multiple online masters programs via the Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology are proposed to launch at the same time.

From 2U:

“Pepperdine endeavors to evolve our programs to match a changing world. With these innovative new online programs, we provide access to a Pepperdine education to more people regardless of geography, furthering our university's mission to be a global, Christian university dedicated to preparing our graduates to be servant-minded leaders throughout the world,” said Rick Marrs, Pepperdine University provost and chief academic officer. “With 2U's focus on quality and driving positive student outcomes, they are the right partner for Pepperdine."

“Pepperdine's entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to lead change in offering new forms of education will make this a winning partnership,” said Chip Paucek, 2U CEO and cofounder. “It's our privilege to partner with Pepperdine and to support their commitment to academic excellence and their mission of transforming student lives through education.”

Law@Pepperdine will be the first MLS program offered by Pepperdine Law, an American Bar Association-approved law school, and is designed for professionals in law-related fields. The program is intended for individuals who are not practicing lawyers but interact with the legal system on a regular basis and would benefit from an in-depth legal education.
