Pepperdine Law graduates tackle the 2016 California Bar Exam

July 26, 2016 -- Our best wishes to scores of recent graduates starting the California Bar Exam today! The California Bar Exam is an intense, three-day experience for thousands of future attorneys across the state, culminating three years of law study and several weeks of focused bar preparation. Around half of all Pepperdine Law alumni remain in California, making the exam an exciting milestone at the school.

"Taking the bar can be daunting for some, but not for our students," says associate dean Danny DeWalt. "They have been working hard, they are prepared, and they are going to win the day. We are so proud of all of them."

Each year, Pepperdine Law provides lunch for our exam takers at several test locations to show support and encouragement. This year's locations and number of students registered for the bar lunches are as follows:

  • Pasadena: 60 students (though Dean of Graduate Programs Al Sturgeon likes to emphasize it's PASS-adena)

  • Ontario: 30

  • Los Angeles: 20

  • Outside the LA area: 11
