Jesse Cahill (JD '03) and Bret Anderson (JD '05) named Super Lawyers Rising Stars

February 19, 2016 -- Pepperdine Law alumni Jesse Cahill (JD '03) and Bret Anderson (JD '05) of Ferguson Case Orr Paterson LLP, have been named to the Rising Stars list of Super Lawyers for 2016.

From the Ferguson Case Orr Paterson press release:
VENTURA, Calif. – Four attorneys with Ferguson Case Orr Paterson LLP have been named to the Rising Stars list of Super Lawyers for 2016. This is a repeat honor for partners Bret Anderson, Jesse Cahill and Douglas Goldwater, and the first recognition for Kymberley Peck, an associate with Ventura County's largest law firm.

The Rising Stars list includes fewer than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the Southern California Region who are 40 years old or younger, or who have been in practice for 10 years or less.

Anderson specializes in matters involving corporate law, real estate, intellectual property and employment. With a strong background in business, Anderson is able to help clients understand the financial and real-world impact of their business and legal issues to avoid litigation. He has been recognized as a Rising Star for three consecutive years.

Cahill's expertise focuses on estate planning, trusts and probate. A graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law, Cahill serves on several boards, including the Ventura County Barristers, Planned Giving Council of Ventura County and the Conejo Free Clinic. An AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Cahill has been included consistently as a Rising Star since 2014.

“Each of the attorneys named to the 2016 Rising Star list continually seeks opportunities for growth in their profession so that they can continue making significant contributions to our clients and our firm,” said FCOP managing partner Michael Velthoen.

Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The Rising Stars list is for attorneys who are still building their practices. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area.
