Stephen Lepley

Director of Professional Outreach and Adjunct Professor of Law, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution

Steve earned an LL.M. in Dispute Resolution from the Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law's Straus Institute, with a Concentration in Mediation, following a several-decade career as a trial and appellate attorney in both civil private and government prosecution practice. He is the Director of Professional Outreach for the Straus Institute and an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching Negotiation Theory and Practice. Steve mediates litigated civil cases through California Dispute Resolution Professionals, LLC, a firm he founded in 2014. In 2017, Steve was elected President of the Pepperdine/Straus American Inn of Court for Dispute Resolution, a local affiliate of a national organization of lawyers, judges, professors and dispute resolution professionals dedicated to excellence, civility, and ethics, presenting high-caliber professional education programs for its members and mentoring its less experienced practitioners. Steve enjoys golf, travel, photography and the beach.
