Pepperdine Law Student Caley Turner Receives Award for Outstanding Article at CPR Annual Meeting

At the annual meeting of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) at Torrey Pines Resort in February, Pepperdine Law 3L student Caley Turner received CPR’s Joseph T. McLaughlin Award for Outstanding Student Article on dispute resolution. Her article, "Old, White and Male: Increasing Gender Diversity in Arbitration Panels" was written for Professor Tom Stipanowich’s class on Arbitration Practice & Advocacy in the summer of 2014.  Professor Stipanowich, who spoke at this year's CPR annual meeting, was on hand to present the award along with Yvonne Chan, a young attorney who had worked with the late Joe McLaughlin, the former head of CPR's Executive Committee for whom the award is named.  Another Pepperdine law student, Erin Gleason Alvarez, received the Outstanding Student Article award several years ago.
