Biography

Kelly Shea Delvac is the Co-Director and Clinical Fellow, Adjunct Professor of Law of the Quattrone Wrongful Convictions Appellate Clinic. She is also a litigation and appellate associate at Miller Barondess, LLP, representing individuals and entities in complex civil matters in state and federal courts.

Prior to joining Miller Barondess, Ms. Delvac clerked for the Honorable Margo A. Rocconi, United States Magistrate Judge for the Central District of California. She also served as a staff attorney at the California Supreme Court in the habeas unit.

Ms. Delvac received her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, graduating cum laude. While in law school, she served as an Associate Editor of the Pepperdine Law Review and as a research assistant for the National Registry of Exonerations. She was awarded the Pepperdine Award for Outstanding Graduate. Ms. Delvac also participated in Pepperdine’s Ninth Circuit Appellate Advocacy Clinic.

In addition, she worked as a certified law clerk for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Conviction Integrity Unit, assisting prosecutors in investigating claims of wrongful conviction and helping to overturn the convictions of two wrongfully convicted individuals. Her academic and professional work reflects a particular focus on wrongful convictions, post-conviction remedies, and constitutional law.

Prior to pursuing a legal career, Ms. Delvac was a professional circus performer specializing in globe walking, aerial rope, and silks.
