Biography
Captain Casey S. Caton is the Chief of Operational Contracting, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, 96th Test Wing, Air Force Materiel Command, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Eglin Air Force Base is the Air Force's largest installation covering 724 square miles with 123,000 square miles of overwater test ranges, 134,000 square miles of air space, 70 test sites, plus 15 detachments and operating locations in 11 states. The office is responsible for providing full spectrum legal services including military justice, general law, environmental law, and procurement law to the 96th Test Wing's 7 groups and 34 squadrons/divisions. Additionally, the office provides legal support to the Air Force Program Executive Officer for Weapons as well as 8 other wing/wing equivalent organizations, and 37 other associate units. The office also supports a legal assistance client base of approximately 92,000 people. As Chief of Operational Contracting, Captain Caton reviews and corrects various types of contracts during all stages of the contracting process at Eglin AFB. This work includes advising commanders and other officials at various organizational levels on issues related to contract law.
Prior to entering active duty, Captain Caton was a graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law and a high school football coach at Viewpoint in Calabasas, CA. He received a direct commission as an Air Force judge advocate and entered into active duty in January 2019. Caton is admitted to practice law before the Texas Supreme Court. Captain Caton is married to Malkah Restrepo, an amazing violinist.
