The Pepperdine University Rick J. Caruso School of Law has been ranked number 52 in the country in the U.S. News & World Report 2024-2025 Best Law School rankings of law schools accredited by the American Bar Association.

Paul L. Caron, Duane and Kelly Roberts Dean of Pepperdine Caruso Law, said, "Despite a lot of volatility in the law school rankings due to yearly changes in the methodology, this is the sixth year in a row Pepperdine Caruso Law has been ranked in a very narrow band between #45 to #52. Our upward trajectory continues. Last year, for the first time in our history, our five-year average ranking was in the Top 50 (#48). Our new five-year ranking is again #48."

Pepperdine Caruso Law was also recognized by its peers for its specialty programs with Top 50 rankings in four areas: #2 in Alternative Dispute Resolution, #23 in Clinical Training, #28 in Tax, and #45 in Constitutional Law. The Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution has been consistently recognized as the best Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program in the country since 2003.

“The entire Straus Institute team is proud of its meaningful impact in the dispute resolution field in 2023-2024 by hosting a national conference in ADR and policing; continuing to work with the Los Angeles Police Department; organizing the first global Mediating the Litigated Case training program in Switzerland; and investing in new mediation initiatives in Ukraine, Rwanda, and Uganda," said Suhksimranjit Singh, Judge Danny Weinstein Managing Director of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. "We look forward to continuing this upcoming extraordinary programming and our commitment to excellence in ADR."

The U.S. News and World Report ranked nearly 200 law schools fully accredited by the American Bar Association. The ranking indicators maintained the same percentage weights that U.S News implemented last year. Ten indicators are considered, including bar passage rates and job placement; quality assessments by academic peers, lawyers, and judges; and student-faculty ratios. The specialty program rankings are based on responses from faculty in each specialty area who are asked to rate schools’ programs on a scale of one to five.
