9th Annual Golf Tournament Benefits Global Justice Program

Last Monday, nearly 60 students, alumni, family, and friends participated in Pepperdine Law's 9th Annual Pepperdine School of Law Golf Tournament. The event was hosted by alumnus Barak Vaughn (JD '01). All proceeds go to Pepperdine Law's Global Justice Program, which funds international human rights projects for students and faculty and provides summer stipends in public interest work.

The tournament was held at the Calabasas Country Club. Participants engaged in contests such as Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Buy-A-Pro, and Beat-the-Pro. Pictures from the event can be viewed on the Pepperdine Law Facebook page.

The Global Justice Program, a component of the Herbert and Elinor Nootbaar Institute for Law, Religion, and Ethics, sends students and faculty around the world to "seek justice and create a lasting impact in some of the world's most vulnerable places." Professor Jim Gash, interim director of the Global Justice Program, was recently honored as International Lawyer of the Year by the State Bar of California.

Both the Global Justice Program and the Nootbaar Institute are part of Pepperdine Law's broad commitment to training and inspiring "practice-ready" attorneys with hands-on, meaningful academic experiences.
