Biography

William Nix has been an Adjunct Professor at the Pepperdine School of Law's Straus Institute for over a decade. Professor Nix built and teaches Selected Issues in Entertainment & Media Disputes in Caruso Law's online programs. He is the Chairman/CEO of the Creative Projects Group®, a Producer and an investment banker with extensive experience in corporate formation, operations and business affairs, as well as an attorney experienced in complex negotiations, litigation and dispute resolution in the entertainment, media, sports, intellectual property and creativity fields. Will has served as Co-Chair of the Baker Botts law firm's Entertainment, Media and Sports Practice Group, and as VP of Legal and Business Affairs for NBA Properties. As COO of the Motion Picture Association's Content Protection Group, he oversaw the creation and management of its global network of employees and representatives, and the enactment of the intellectual property laws around the world that protect film and television works.

In private practice, he helped launch numerous Internet and software businesses, and then served as their strategic and operational advisor. He is also a Partner in LOHAS Capital and Advisors, which provides social impact investment advisory and other services that align with clients' passions and yield real social or environmental results. He is an active member of the Producer's Council of the Producers Guild of America. His production work involves both traditional media and multiple content delivery platforms, technologies and genres.
