Kimberley Guillemet
Biography
Professor Guillemet teaches Legal Research and Writing and serves as faculty advisor to the law school's moot court team (internal competitions).
Before accepting a full-time teaching position with Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, Professor Guillemet was a judge with the Los Angeles Superior Court, where she served in various divisions, including the appellate, criminal, mental health and substance abuse treatment divisions, held various leadership roles within the court and chaired multiple judicial committees, including the judicial mentorship program which served nearly 5,000 attorneys throughout the state of California.
Professor Guillemet, has dedicated her career to public service, systemic reconciliation and restoration, and increasing equal access to education and justice. Prior to her judicial career, Professor Guillemet launched and led the city’s first-ever Office of Reentry, creating lasting employment, housing access and recidivism-reduction programs for thousands of formerly incarcerated individuals. Professor Guillemet has also served as a deputy attorney general where she represented the people of the state of California in the areas of consumer protection and criminal appeals. She has also served as a disability-rights attorney and received the prestigious Equal Justice Works Fellowship immediately after law school.
Professor Guillemet is a sought-after lecturer, facilitator and instructor in the areas of appellate advocacy, dispute resolution, reconciliation, civil discourse, education access, judicial and legal ethics, and criminal and social justice-related issues, and is the author of Black Prep: Life Lessons of a Perpetual Outsider. True to her commitment to public service, in 2026, Professor Guillemet founded All Thrive Collective, a charitable organization dedicated to improving youth well-being and resilience.
Professor Guillemet received her juris doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and her undergraduate degrees in English and History with high honors from Stanford University.
Professor Guillemet is a member of the California State Bar and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court - Central District.
