"In recent decades, the rising case load of the federal courts has created severe pressures on the federal judiciary. This has required many judges to place greater responsibility on their personal law clerks. The purpose of the Byrne Judicial Clerkship Institute is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the judicial clerks. In consultation with several of the most highly respected judges in the United States, we identified the subjects that new clerks most need to learn. The judicial faculty of the Byrne Institute will give students much of the practical knowledge needed by every law clerk. This stellar faculty is expert in their subject areas and has vast experience in dealing with the practical problems in those areas. We look forward to seeing you in March at this stimulating, informative seminar."
