Particpate in Focus Groups
The Competing Claims Conference is happy to support the work of those studying the religious lawyering movement. Professor Isabelle Gunning (Southwestern Law School) and Dr. Antonio Brown, PhD ( political scientist) are conducting a qualitative and quantitative study on the attitudes of lawyers/law professors of faith entitled Spirit in the Law. As part of their work, they plan to hold and videotape 1-2 focus groups involving 6-8 religious or spiritual lawyers/law professors. Each focus group will consist of a two (2) hour long guided conversation concerning attitudes on whether paticipants' faith impacts their legal work. These focus groups will be held on Pepperdine’s campus during the Competing Claims conference. Groups will not be held during scheduled conference activities. Groups will occur in the early morning - 6:30 - 8:30 AM on Friday or Saturday morning; 6:30 - 8:30 PM on Thursday evening, or 4:45 - 6:45 PM on Saturday evening. If you are interested in participating, please email Professor Gunning at irgunning@aol.com.
