Alternative Transportation

Ridesharing to the Green Leadership (Un)Conference is strongly encouraged. Pepperdine University maintains a Rideshare program for our existing community that incentivizes the use of carpools, vanpools, mass transit, and walking. While we can not make all of these tools available for a one-time event, we would like to provide you with the following Rideshare options. We welcome any comments or suggestions you might have as to the incorporation of other options at future events.

Metro Transportation Authority
Metro Transportation Authority ("MTA") offers a transportation system for Los Angeles County. There are many transit options available. In order to find a transit route to the Green Leadership (Un)Conference or anywhere within the greater Los Angeles area, please visit http://www.metro.net/index.asp. The website provides an option to enter in your current location and desired destination and will map out a route for you along with a corresponding schedule.

For ease of use, we have provided routes from the anticipated most common originations. They are Santa Monica, Westwood, and downtown Los Angeles.

From Santa Monica: Take the Blue Bus #7 from Pico Boulevard & Barrington Avenue. Exit at Ocean Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard. Connect to Metro Bus #534. Exit at Malibu Canyon Road and Civic Center Way. The entrance to the University is directly across the street. Proceed up Seaver Drive (which is the name of Civic Center Way once the street enters campus) to the corner of Banowsky Boulevard. Take the Orange Route shuttle to the Drescher Graduate Campus, which is the location of the event.

From Westwood: Take the Metro Bus #20, #720, or #920 to Ocean Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard.

From Los Angeles: Take the Metro Bus #20 from Wilshire Boulevard and Westmoreland Avenue. Exit at Ocean Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard. Connect to Metro Bus #534 and exit at Malibu Canyon Road and Pacific Coast Hwy. The entrance to the University is directly across the street. Proceed up Malibu Canyon Road to Seaver Drive (which is the name of Civic Center Way once the street enters campus) and through the guard booth to the corner of Banowsky Boulevard. Take the Orange Route shuttle to the Drescher Graduate Campus, which is the location of the event.

Carpool
Carpooling to the Green Leadership (Un)Conference is strongly encouraged. Preferential carpool parking will be provided at the Drescher Graduate Campus for carpoolers. Please request a carpool pass at the guard booth to access this parking, which will be clearly designated.

For individuals coming to the (Un)Conference alone who are interested in finding others to carpool with, there are many websites that allow carpoolers to find each other both for long-term ridesharing and one-time events. One such website is: www.pickuppal.com.
