School of Law First-Year Preceptor Program
All first-year JD students at the Pepperdine University School of Law are automatically enrolled in the Preceptor Program, which connects students in groups of two or three to a local attorney or judge. These "preceptors" agree to serve as mentors for the students throughout their first year

Step Forward Day

Each year, the Pepperdine community comes together for a day of service. Over 1,400 students, faculty, staff, and alumni gather to help over 50 nonprofit organizations, schools, churches, and parks from downtown Los Angeles to Ventura County. Project registration will open in August. Please contact
the alumni office if you would like to organize a project, if you have questions about existing projects, or about becoming a Step Forward Day partner.

Transnational Forum Shopping Symposium
September 19, 2013

Save the date! This symposium, hosted by the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform, will bring together prominent academics, legal practitioners, and business leaders to discuss three key issues in transnational litigation: (1) the future of Alien Tort Statute litigation after Kiobel
, (2) the need for federal legislation governing the recognition of judgments rendered in foreign countries, and (3) global forum shopping. Registration will open in August. Please visit the website for additional information.
