The Student Bar Association (SBA) at the Pepperdine University School of Law is the governing body of the students.

The SBA endeavors to represent the entirety of the Law School community in furthering legal education, promoting fellowship and goodwill among students, faculty and the administration, and advocating the concerns of Pepperdine Law students.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Student Bar Association is to foster a cooperative, professional, and diverse educational environment at our law school. In pursuit of this mission, the SBA will:

  • Represent student interests to administration and faculty
  • Apprise students of issues and developments concerning our school,
  • Provide financial support to student organizations, and
  • Create opportunities for students to come together in both social and academic setting.

William Kellog

William Kellog - President

William is drawn to labor and employment law by his passion for helping people overcome prejudice. Serving in the U.S. Army prior to attending law school, he advocated for Soldiers to receive the citizenship earned by their service. Utilizing skills developed at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, he just completed an externship with the EEOC in Los Angeles, where he successfully mediated dozens of employment discrimination and retaliation charges. In law school, he participates in Moot Court, the Honor Board, and is President of the Pepperdine Student Bar Association.

 

Alex Caruso

Alex Caruso - Vice President

Alex is a rising 2L at Pepperdine Law. He went to undergrad at the University of Southern California where he was enrolled at the Price School of Public Policy. His studies focused on public policy and real estate development, while also taking pre-law classes knowing that he eventually wanted to attend law school. A life-long Angeleno, his interests include traveling, water sports and tennis. Alex is honored to be able to serve his peers as Vice President of the Student Bar Association.

 

Yasmin Hosseini

Yasmin Hosseini - Secretary

Yassi received her Bachelor's degree in English from UC Santa Barbara in 2013. While at UCSB, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and the Campus Correspondent and Head of Public Relations for the Her Campus Magazine chapter of the university. She was also a speaker and contributor at the Next Generation Summit, which is very similar to TED Talks. She enjoys public speaking and connecting with peers about issues in society to create a better future. She grew up in a huge family of doctors and dentists and is the second person the family to go to law school. She has a growing passion for entertainment and healthcare law. She joined SBA during her 1L year as a section representative and now serves as the SBA Secretary and a Barbri representative.

 

Jacob Brown

Jake Brown - Treasurer

Jake Brown is the SBA Treasurer for 2015-2016. He is a 3L who is also involved with Moot Court, Trial Team, Dispute Resolution Law Journal, and Christian Legal Society. As Treasurer, Jake will manage the SBA's finances and to provide funds for events hosted by the various student organizations.
