About the Program
In 2013 the 26th Annual Professional Skills Program drew over 230 participants from 23 states and 7 foreign countries. Register early for 2014 as some courses will sell out.
Featuring a panel of nationally recognized experts in dispute resolution, this comprehensive program provides three days of unique educational opportunities for practicing professionals. Participants will network with nationally prominent faculty, as well as participants from the other specialties at plenary sessions, lunches, and receptions. Early enrollment is recommended since many of the sessions fully subscribe. Contact Lori Rushford at (310) 506-6342 or e-mail Lori.Rushford@pepperdine.edu to enroll or to request a brochure.
Participants select the process in which they desire expertise (one course only), as all programs will be presented simultaneously. To provide for personalized instruction, enrollment for each course is limited to ensure a close working relationship among the faculty and participants. Course sessions will include lectures, small group discussions, and practice exercises. Faculty and other participants will also provide performance coaching. The synergy of ideas will provide a truly unique learning experience.
The registration fee, including meals and materials, is $1,295. Registrations received by Friday, May 9, 2014, receive a $100 discount. Early registration discount does NOT apply to the governmental or nonprofit rate. A reduced rate of $895 is available for full-time employees of governmental and nonprofit organizations. By requesting this rate, you agree that we may contact your employer for verification.
Some of the classes will close early due to classroom space limitations. You will receive notification that you have a space in the course. Payment will be due in order to hold your space.
Should a paid participant be unable to attend, the tuition, less a non-refundable fee of $200, will be refunded or a substitute may attend the program.
Note: There is a $50 administrative fee for transferring to another program. When canceling, we require notice by Monday, June 16, 2014, or an additional $50 food service fee will be deducted from the refund.
These activities have been approved for 18 hours of MCLE credit by the State Bar of California. Pepperdine University School of Law certifies that the activity conforms to the standards for approved education activities prescribed by the rules and regulations of the State Bar of California governing MCLE.
When the program is posted, listed faculty are confirmed. However, unavoidable scheduling conflicts or illness may prevent faculty from attending. If such an event occurs, Straus reserves the right to have a class go forward with only one faculty if a substitute cannot be found.
All programs of the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution are offered with a satisfaction guarantee. If a participant completes the program and is dissatisfied with the course content or performance of the faculty, the tuition fee will be refunded.
Education expenses (including enrollment fees, course materials, and travel costs) may be deductible if they improve or maintain professional skills. Treas. Reg. Sec. I 162-5.
