Translating Theory into Practice
One of the most important aspects of a Straus education is the student's ability to practice the theories learned in the classroom. Through our Dispute Resolution Externships and the Dispute Resolution Clinic Class, students are given a unique opportunity to integrate knowledge of conflict management principles and dispute resolution processes with the development of professional skills.
Through our Dispute Resolution Externships students are given an opportunity to mediate in the courts, shadow a mediator, work with judges, create dispute resolution programs for organizations and much more.
Our Dispute Resolution Clinic class offers students an opportunity to mediate cases in Los Angeles Superior Court; one of the largest court systems in the country. Students are given a unique opportunity resolve real conflict in a supervised environment.
