Thomas Stipanowich and Straus panel members Nina Meierding, Linda Meyer, and Peter Robinson comment on the challenge an arbitrator or a mediator faces when they take on a mixed role. Nina speaks to the important role the mediator can play in providing a harmonious, face-saving process which may include the use of separate sessions in which apologies are framed with mediator assistance. Linda highlights the importance of confidentiality, while Peter addresses enforcement issues. Madame Zhang responds to their comments as the historic video conference comes to a close.
