Madame Zhang Yuejiao discusses a number of contemporary issues with importance to both Chinese and American mediators. These include the issue of mixed roles of mediators and arbitrators, challenges regarding the enforcement of mediated settlements, both within China and in cross-border disputes, and the challenge of addressing the needs of additional stakeholders. Madame Wang Hongsong comments on the importance of continuing education for BAC mediators, and notes the BAC’s active role in providing training.
