The Asian Dispute Resolution Study Tour is built around a case study in which participant working groups are engaged during the entire trip. The groups act as consultants to an American corporate client. Each day the problem unfolds, and each day guest speakers and site visits to various organizations offer possible answers. It is intended to create the very real pressure to make strategic decisions while dealing with the evolving nature of a major legal and dispute resolution problem. Based on a real merger and acquisition circumstance, participants will meet and talk with those who handle such cases on a daily basis.
A reflection and term paper will be required following the tour; more information TBA.
The Asian Dispute Resolution Study Tour is designed to be a stimulating professional experience, as well as an enjoyable trip for the participants. The primary conference facility for the program will be the new executive education center in the heart of the central Hong Kong business district. Designated the SCOPE Admiralty Learning Centre, it is operated by City University in Hong Kong. The SCOPE facility is in an office complex that includes the Admiralty MTR (subway) stop and adjoins one of the largest, and newest, shopping, eating, and office malls in Hong Kong.
Site visits and/or speakers planned for the Asian Dispute Resolution Study Tour include the following (Please note that because these organizations and professionals are in demand and engaged in on-going work, the Study Tour is subject to their availability.):
