School of Law and Student Bar Association tees off for some fun, friendly competition
At the inaugural School of Law Golf Tournament on May
13, 2006, students, faculty, staff, and alumni enjoyed
an afternoon round of golf at the Malibu Country Club.
All proceeds from the event benefited the law school's
unrestricted general scholarship fund.
The game was played in a scramble format where every golfer played the group's best ball on every shot. Prizes were awarded for First-, Second-, and Third-Place teams and individual prizes were given for "closest to the pin," "putting contest," and "longest drive." After the tournament the fun continued with a barbeque.
In all, more than $13,000 was raised and the tournament was a great opportunity for everyone to unwind, socialize, and network after finals. Stay tuned for details about the next golf tournament scheduled for May 12, 2007, at the Malibu Country Club.
Zeke Fortenberry, Class of 2007 and 2006-07 president of the Student Bar Association, contributed to this story.
