Preceptor of the Year
We are proud to announce Otto Cipolla, Jr., as "Preceptor of the Year" for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Mr. Cipolla, a partner at Cipolla, Calaba, Marrone, Wollman & Silva, has been an attorney for 27 years. He completed his undergraduate work at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, then earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University in 1983.
Preceptors are nominated for the honor by their students and selected by the School of Law administration. Here are a few excerpts from the student nominations for Mr. Cipolla:
- "From allowing me to use his office space to study for finals, to taking our mentor group out to dinner every couple of weeks, to giving me thoughtful career advice, he has done so much to make my law school experience both enjoyable and comfortable."
- "Most importantly," wrote another, "he represents everything that Pepperdine stands for: a person who overcame the odds and does good things for people on a daily basis. He is truly one of the most unselfish people I know."
- "He offered his office as a quiet, off-campus study option, and supplied my entire study group with pizza during one of our classes," said another preceptee. "He fosters conversation amongst us regarding learning techniques and general tips for success."
