Barrister's Ball
Barrister's Ball is the premier social event of the year. This school-wide event is open to all Pepperdine Law Students, faculty, alumni, and other members of the legal community. Barrister's Ball is typically held at an exclusive hotel and/or ballroom in Santa Monica or Beverly Hills. Formal attire is recommended. This event combines elegance, excitement, and hours of entertainment for all who attend. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event.
In-N-Out Burger Day
Every semester, the SBA presents "In-N-Out Day" where all law students and faculty are provided a free lunch by In-N-Out. The famous In-N-Out truck arrives at the law school parking lot and stays for the duration of the lunch period.
CLE/Small Firm Networking Event
The SBA and the Career Development Office (CDO) come together to promote an excellent networking opportunity for Pepperdine law students. To attract smaller to medium size firms to campus, the CDO presents a CLE event for local attorneys. Attorneys are provided lunch through assigned seating, and students are paired up with attorneys based on area of practice. A "mixer" is also conducted between CLE speakers that all law students can attend. Space for this event is limited, and attendance at a prep workshop is mandatory.
"I Survived the First Week of Law School Party"
Typically the first gathering of the year, this party is geared towards the 1L students! The first week of law school can be quiet an experience for new students, so the SBA puts together this annual party after the first week of law school classes to celebrate the occasion!
"I Survived the First Semester of School Party"
Surviving your first semester of law school is also quiet a milestone. To celebrate such an occasion, the SBA sponsors this event for all returning students in the Spring semester. A great start to another semester!
SBA Town Hall Meeting
In order to facilitate greater communication between the SBA and the student body, the SBA holds a Town Hall Meeting, in which it encourages all members of the student body to attend. Although this meeting is run as a typical SBA meeting, students in attendance are encouraged to participate and lend their opinion to issues involving our law school education. The SBA encourages all law students to attend.
Last Day of School Party
This event commemorates the end of the school year! Students use this event to say their goodbyes and wish their fellow students luck in the summer months!
Law School Dinner
The Annual Law School Dinner is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. Attending this event are faculty, administration, alumni, members of the legal community, and students. Distinguished speakers have included Supreme Court Justices and Counsel to the President of the United States. A reception is followed with dinner. Professor of the Year and Moot Court awards are presented thereafter. Law students can purchase tickets to the Dinner at a discounted price.
Finals Doughnuts
The last thing law students want to think about during finals is cooking themselves breakfast! During finals week, the SBA gladly provides doughnuts or other breakfast food items for your convenience.
