Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship, and the Law
The Pepperdine
University School of Law is pleased to announce the inauguration of the
Pepperdine Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law (the "Journal"),
sponsored by the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship & the Law.
The Journal begins operations in the 2006-2007 academic year, and intends on
publishing two issues per year.
The primary objective of the Journal is to contribute to the body of legal knowledge in the fields of entrepreneurship and business through publication of a high quality and professional periodical. The Journal achieves this goal through a unique approach, combining the traditional legal print journal with a dynamic online forum fostering a sophisticated interdisciplinary exploration of the legal issues pertaining to business and entrepreneurship. The Journal publishes two issues per year, one each fall and spring semester, containing articles from judges, lawyers, law professors and other academics as well as student authored notes and comments in the field of entrepreneurship and business law. In the spring semester, the Journal publishes a printed volume compiling the fall and spring Issues. Additionally, the Journal works closely with the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship & the Law to host symposia in the fields of entrepreneurship and business, and will publish resulting symposia issues.
The Journal's online presence consists of an electronic publication of the journal, with one issue published at the close of each fall and in the spring semester, as well as a "blog" section. Driven primarily by reader submissions, the blog (shortened from "weblog," a relatively new form of participatory media, evolved from online diaries) promotes active dialogue between readers and authors. Through blog entries, readers and authors discuss issues and legal theories raised in the full-length scholarly articles or shorter positions essays and notes selected for publication by the Journal Editors. Concluded blog discussions and material published in prior issues will remain available in archives on the Journal's web site.
