Submissions
The Pepperdine Dispute Resolution Law Journal publishes academic work that fosters both practical and scholarly research in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution. The Journal strongly encourages contributions from scholars, practitioners and students alike and accepts submissions for articles, case comments and reviews.
All citations must conform to the The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed. 2005). Authors are also asked to include a brief summary of biographical data either in the footnotes of the submission or as an attachment.
Submission Review Process
Once a submission is received, an acknowledgment of receipt is forwarded to the author within one week. The Lead Articles Editors perform a thorough evaluation of the manuscript and provide the Editor-in-Chief with a preliminary decision. The Editor-in-Chief, through consultation with the Lead Articles Editors, ultimately decides whether a submission is to be published. At this point, there are three possible outcomes that may occur:
- The submission will be accepted for publication.
- The submission will be conditionally accepted for publication and the author will be requested to make revisions as recommended by the peer reviewer(s).
- The submission will be rejected for publication.
The review process takes 2 weeks to complete. Following this stage, the author will receive notice of the status of their submission. Wherever practical, the comments and suggestions of the Lead Articles Editors will be forwarded to the author irrespective of any publication decisions. Regretfully, the DRJ will not be able to return manuscripts after consideration.
Publication Schedule
The DRJ publishes three times annually. These publication times usually occur at the beginning, middle and end of the respective academic year. The exact publication dates vary depending on a number of external and internal factors. Please be assured, however, that all submissions are treated with the utmost professionalism, and every attempt is made to keep the writers of all manuscripts accepted for publication informed as to the status of their submission and the expected date of publication.
