Pepperdine University School of Law will host a panel discussion on international law and the media and its impact on the conflict in Gaza on Thursday, January 22, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Room B.
Dean Ken Starr will moderate the discussion with panelists Judge Bruce Einhorn and Professor Roger Cossack. The topic will be international law in relation to war crimes, the media coverage within the Middle East and abroad, and the potential impact of the media on future policy making and military strategy.
Judge Einhorn served as a federal immigration judge for 17 years before retiring in 2007. Prior to his service on the court, he served as a special prosecutor and as chief of litigation for the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Special Investigations. He teaches International Law and War Crimes and directs the school's Asylum Clinic.
Roger Cossack is a national media figure, who previously served on the faculty of UCLA Law School and as a legal analyst for CNN and ESPN. Professor Cossack is the distinguished practitioner in residence for Spring 2008. He teaches Media and the Law.
