Placing Course Materials on Reserve
Assigned class readings may be placed on Reserve at the law library Public Services Desk. Materials should be left with the Public Services Supervisor on duty or with a reference librarian. Materials will be placed on two (2) hour reserve for use in the library only unless otherwise designated. Items will stay on reserve for one semester unless otherwise instructed. It is recommended that items be placed on reserve before making an announcement in class.
Making Exams Available to Students
Send an electronic copy of the exam to Jared Padgett, Web Services Manager (x7296). An exam archive is available on the library's web page.
Borrowing Privileges
Law faculty may borrow library materials for the duration of their research projects.
Interlibrary Loan
Current Pepperdine School of Law faculty may request materials from other libraries throughout the United States through interlibrary loan service. Materials usually arrive in 5-10 business days. Loan periods vary by lending institution but are usually between two and four weeks. Renewals may or may not be granted depending on the policies of the lending institution. See reference librarians for interlibrary loans.
Pepperdine Campus Loan
Faculty may request materials to be sent to the law library from other university libraries. Delivery can usually be made within 24 hours. See a Circulation Supervisor or a reference librarian.
Recalling Materials Checked Out to Other Patrons
See a reference librarian or Circulation Supervisor to see if library materials are checked out to a member of the law faculty. The law library maintains confidentiality of patron borrowing records, however, in the spirit of collegiality among the law faculty, you will be advised if the book is held by another law faculty member, so that you can make your own arrangements. If the book is held by a student or non-law faculty, a recall notice will be sent to the borrower.
