London Program: Fall 2012

Tours and Trips

Local London Tours

Students, along with faculty and staff, have the opportunity to experience legal and cultural activities.  Please see Cultural Experiences  for more information.

International Tours

In the Fall Program, Pepperdine arranges two special trips: the European Institutions Tour and the International Institutions or The Hague Trip.

The trips are a popular part of the fall program and provide students with an exceptional legal and cultural experience which they can share and enjoy with classmates, faculty, and staff.  The trips are particularly relevant to students enrolled in European Union Law, International Public Law, Comparative Law and International Commercial Arbitration.

European Institutions Tour

The tour commences with an early morning train ride on the Eurostar from London's  St. Pancras Station to the Midi Station in Brussels, Belgium for a tour and briefing at the European Parliament.

The next day is spent in Luxembourg with a briefing and visit at the European Court of Justice. Lunch at the ECJ is followed by a quick bus tour of the diverse suburbs of the city, including a visit to the American Cemetery where General Patton is buried, and a walking tour of Luxembourg's historic old city.  In the late afternoon the group departs for Strasbourg, France.

The final European institution visit is to the European Court of Human Rights located in Strasbourg, France. After a visit and briefing at the European Court of Human Rights the afternoon is free to explore beautiful and historic Strasbourg. The following day, it is back on the coach and back to Brussels, where there is ample opportunity to savor the food, culture and and sights of Brussels. With the hotel only minutes from the Midi station there is time to pick up those last minute gifts before boarding the lunchtime train back to London.

Program costs: The cost of the trip is $500 dollars which is debited from students' accounts. This covers return transportation and accommodation costs and some meals.
