Welcome

Established in 1981, the London Program offers second- and third-year students the opportunity to study, work in externships, moot, and travel during the fall semester. The London Program is located in a Pepperdine-owned building constructed after the Great Exhibition of 1861. Its many architectural features complement the facility, which includes classrooms, a resource library, computer facilities, a student lounge, and offices. It is located in the Knightsbridge and South Kensington areas, close to Hyde Park, Imperial College, Kensington Palace, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The London Program is an enriching academic, cultural, and personal experience. A full-time faculty member from the Malibu Campus serves as the Director and visiting faculty member each semester. The courses are taught by the visiting faculty member and by adjunct professors, expert in their fields, many of whom are European practitioners. Students may also have the opportunity to earn units for participating in moot court competitions against British Inns of Court and for engaging in approved externships. All this is combined with study tours planned to familiarize students with European legal institutions and traditions.

Note: The London Program is currently funded through Fall 2017. The future of the London Program beyond Fall 2017 is currently under review.

What Students Say

"I highly rate this program as I provided me with an environment to challenge my understanding of international law. In addition it allowed me to widen my network and gain from my externship things that cannot be taught in class."

"The London Program gets a 10/10 from me. Not too many law schools offer something like this, and it was a true once in a lifetime experience."

"The London Summer Program is the secret treasure of the Pepperdine Law School experience. It was great to learn about London's political and legal culture while advancing my class work. I also really enjoyed traveling on the weekends. It was a great way to spend the summer following my first year."

"I really liked the way the program was tailored to accommodate our needs from on-campus facilities to the Legal London day. It made this program fun, educational and professionally enriching. I can go back to the U.S. with great memories as well as a great international-professional-educational-legal experience which will enhance my credibility when I get into the real world."

"An outstanding experience. My professors were absolutely wonderful. I will be recommending that the international coordinator at my law school contact Pepperdine in the hope that more of our students are made aware of this program."

"As a non-Pepperdine student, I would highly recommend the London program to students who have the time and money to take advantage of this opportunity. The school's location is in the heart of London and the faculty and staff are extremely helpful with whatever issues/inquiries arise. If you will be attending this program as the only student from your school, don't feel that you'll be excluded from 'the group.' I NEVER felt this way."

Visiting Students Describe the London Program

"On a 1-10 scale, I'd rate this program a 15! I enjoyed it completely . . . everyone went out of their way to assist me as a visiting student."
