Criminal Justice Dispute Resolution Practicum

In the Criminal Justice Dispute Resolution Practicum students work with teens in probation at the L.A. County Sheriff's facility at Camp Gonzalez and adults in the LA County Jail to teach peacemaking and dispute resolution as a part of coordinated efforts to reduce recidivism and to promote better outcomes in the criminal justice system. Students will receive intensive training in peacemaking and dispute resolution, and will assist in teaching and training clients using these skills and virtues. Students will develop knowledge and insight into the criminal justice and juvenile justice systems, develop critical cultural competence, and develop skills and virtues of dispute resolution.
