Advocacy is all about being a champion.

The Legal Aid and Family Law clinics help thousands of people get back on their feet - legally reuniting children with parents, expunging criminal records to make way for new career opportunities, and aiding those facing homelessness and bankruptcy during these difficult economic times. Pepperdine's clinics are housed within the Union Rescue Mission, one of Los Angeles' largest homeless shelters. Student law clerks are trained to provide legal assistance to clients seeking better lives.

Pepperdine law students take each pro bono case from start to finish under faculty supervision. Interviewing clients, investigating cases, communicating with opposing parties, negotiating settlements, drafting motions and contracts, and representing clients in court proceedings -all vital experiences that even the most knowledgeable professor cannot provide.

An investment in our clinics will ensure that the good work continues. Taking on unpaid clerkships is a big sacrifice to law students. By endowing their stipends, you empower willing students committed to serving Greater Los Angeles in this key capacity.
