Friends,

On July 1, I wrote to you asking you to participate in our 30-Day Waves of Giving challenge during the month of July- the last month of our fiscal year. Today, I am pleased to report that a substantial number of you rose to the challenge and contributed to the future of the law school in a tangible way. All told, more than 250 of our alumni and friends participated in this challenge. When added to the $20,000 in matching gifts, the amount we raised was just over $165,000.

These gifts will allow us to continue the momentum into the next academic year by providing the outstanding academic programming, scholarly conferences and symposia, and alumni services that are essential to our further rise in national prominence. I want to thank and acknowledge publicly those of you who participated by listing you below. I am profoundly grateful for your support. Many others of you gave at other times throughout the year, and we will appropriately acknowledge your support in our upcoming edition of the Honor Roll.

I am also pleased to report that our wonderfully generous friends Herbert and Elinor Nootbaar added just over one million dollars to the Nootbaar Institute for Law, Religion and Ethics Endowment in July. Every gift, whether big or small, is important and materially advances our special law school.

As we look to the beginning of a new academic year, it is my sincere hope that you will continue to be involved in the Pepperdine Law community and help propel us to both greater national prominence and deeper levels of service to those greatest in need.
