Pre-Legal Education

A broad general education is usually considered better preparation for the study of law than specialized study in subjects closely related to law. Prospective law students should strive to acquire the ability to communicate ideas with precision, both orally and in writing, to gain understanding of human values and institutions, and to develop the ability to think critically and creatively. It is recommended that law students take courses in both basic accounting and economics prior to entering law school. Other helpful courses include those that strengthen the student's ability to use proper grammar and sentence construction in both written and spoken communication. Applicants should have received a bachelor's degree from an approved college or university prior to the time of registration.
