Information for Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants can apply online through the LSAC or download the application from our website. The deadline to submit a transfer application is July 15, 2009.

Transfer applicants must currently attend an ABA-accredited law school. To be considered competitive, transfer applicants should finish in the top 10-15% of their first year class.

Pepperdine University School of Law will accept a maximum number of 30 transfer units. There is no set minimum; however, in order to transfer, the applicant needs to have completed the majority (if not all) of Pepperdine's first year required courses. They are:

  • Civil Procedure I & II
  • Contracts I & II
  • Criminal Law
  • Legal Research & Writing I & II
  • Property I & II
  • Torts I & II

Transfer applicants must submit the following items:

  • Application
  • Application fee
  • Resume
  • Response to Pepperdine's Mission Statement
  • Personal Statement
  • Dean's letter of good standing from current law school
  • Official transcript from current law school
  • Official class rank from current law school

Please note that letters of recommendation are not required for transfer applicants.
