Certificate in Law & Entrepreneurship - How to Apply

Pepperdine School of Law students entering their second year of study in the fall of 2012 are eligible to apply to the Palmer Center's Certificate Program. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013. Students enrolled in the JD/MBA program at Pepperdine University, and who have more than one year of law school curriculum remaining as of the application deadline, may also apply. Please check this website for updated information regarding the application deadline.

Depending on the number of applications received, the Palmer Center may limit the number of new students admitted into the Palmer Center. Applicants will be considered based upon the strength of the materials submitted as well as a personal interview with Janet Kerr, Professor of Law and Palmer Center Founder and Executive Director. Applicants must submit the following materials to be considered for admission:

  • Current resume
  • Official transcript (Please download Palmer Center transcript request form and submit it to the Records Office). **Please note: No person on academic probation will be admitted to the Palmer Center.
  • One page essay detailing why admission should be granted. The essay should include, among other things, a discussion of the applicant's interest in the program and how the Fellowship would benefit the applicant.
  • Two letters of reference (Please download Palmer Center recommendation form). Letters should be included with the other application materials.
  • Completed course grid showing proposed course of study at the Palmer Center (Please download Palmer Center course grid).
