Melanie Howard

Prior to joining the Pepperdine community, Professor Howard was an associate at the law firm of Loeb & Loeb LLP, where she specialized in intellectual property law. Each year since 2004, Professor Howard has been named a Rising Star by the Southern California Super Lawyers. She has authored several articles, including contributions to the following: The Practicing Law Institute's Accountant Liability After Enron (with Robert A. Meyer, Esq.); and The Association of Business and Trial Lawyers Report (with Peter S. Selvin, Esq.).

Professor Howard is a Founding Director of Opportunities Without Borders, a non-profit organization that facilitates the expansion of employment of small entrepreneurial businesses in developing countries by providing access to a worldwide network of universities and successful entrepreneurs. Professor Howard also sits on the board of Fonkoze USA, a non-profit organization that raises donated funds and coordinates technical assistance for microfinance and grassroots economic development programs in Haiti.

Professor Howard is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the Supreme Court of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal District.

Professor Howard teaches Legal Issues in Social Entrepreneurship.
