A member of the state bar in both California and
New York, Professor Kerr is admitted to practice in
the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She has been a
staff attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission at both the Los
Angeles and New York regional offices, and served a stint in the private sector as
an associate at the Los Angeles firm Hahn & Cazier.
Professor Kerr joined the Pepperdine faculty in 1983 and was associate dean of
academics from 1987 to 1990. She has been a Luckman Distinguished Teaching
Fellow having won this honor twice, in 1991 and 1996. She was also honored
as the Distinguished Alumna at Pepperdine University's Seaver College in 1994.
She presently serves as the executive director for the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center
for Entrepreneurship and the Law.
